That Turkey is the main hurdle for developing more successful Common Security and Defence Policy in the EU there is no doubt. Neither there is about whether it is a committed NATO member and a strong European and US ally at the gate of the Middle East. Until Now.

EU presents Energy Strategy

A few days ago EU Commissioner for Energy Guenter Oettinger unveiled the new EU Energy Strategy. It is long overdue and I expect it heralds serious commitment on supra-national level to tackle the energy problems that Europe faces. And they are not one and two in the field of policy, politics, technology and the related effects for the environment.

The strategy has 5 key priorities as well as a number of action points that if developed and implemented correctly can make a lot of difference for the lives of the 500 million EU citizens.

Произведената новина на 11.11, че президентът стартира политическия си проект не е от чак такова значение. Винаги сме знаели що за политик е той – скрит от бурите в държавата и вълненията на гражданите в своята крепост на Дондуков, умел задколисен манипулатор, който се учи бързо от грешките на противниците си в условията на медиен комфорт. И не на последно място, политик с едн единствен принцип – да остане политик, да има власт, пък дали има идеи и принципи не е толкова важно.

I think this is an event worth the time as it aims at paying tribute to those suffered by the communist dictatorship and also at showing that in Bulgaria there was a significant resistance against communism – a regime that destroyed the political, economic and cultural elite of the country.  Покана за конференция:  “Изстраданата Европейска Мечта на България: 1944-1989″ на 17.11.2010 в Брюксел”, организирана от д-р Андрей Ковачев, еврудепутат от ГЕРБ и ръководител на българската делегация в групата на Европейската Народна Партия.

Целта на конференцията е да покаже на европейската общественост недобре известната българска съпротива срещу комунистическия режим.
